The shade of this lamp is made to abstractly reference the shape of a mushroom head; coupled with the unfinished wood, the lamp is inspired by nature, yet is constructed with modern materials. A CNC milling machine is used to cut the pieces of the arm (held together by friction alone), the joint holding the head and electronics is FDM rapid prototyping, and the head is constructed from thermoformed plastic.
